Today we added to nine companies we already own and opened small new positions in two more — each purchase was about 0.25% of the portfolio, put to work from cash reserves.
The nine additions are must-haves. Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta in technology. JPMorgan in banking. Intuitive Surgical in medical devices. General Dynamics, Trane, Rockwell Automation, and Performance Food Group across defense, industry, and food distribution. These are companies we know well. In several cases our holdings were still much smaller than their weight in the overall market, and this week’s volatility let us build them up at better prices than we saw a month ago.
The two new positions are Palantir, whose software has become standard equipment across the U.S. government, and Franklin Electric, which makes the pumps and motors that move water — about as basic as infrastructure gets.
All eleven fit inside the Industrial Tech framework we have high conviction in for long-term growth.
Podcast Update
Thank you for the questions you’ve sent in; they’ve set the agenda. Coming: a series on why I’m not afraid of an AI bubble, and an episode on teaching kids to build wealth. Those are the two topics you’ve asked about most. Sorry for the gap in new episodes. With all the market volatility, I’ve been too busy living the content to create it. Thanks for your patience.
