The Utility Sector rarely outperforms the S&P 500, but right now it is.
The first chart shows the Utility Sector versus the S&P 500 on a nominal price basis. Through February, Utilities were underperforming, as they typically do. But things started to change in March.
The second chart shows the recent relative performance. Over the past two months, the S&P 500 is effectively flat, while Utilities are up about 10%.
Will this trend continue? I have no idea, but for now, I have no intention of selling my Utility stocks. You can find a list of my Utility holdings here: https://investablewealth.com/utility-sector-buy-list-240327/
